The PWMN events calendar may not be as extensive as some, but it's growing in length every year. This year a new Home Counties 'meet' has been added to the schedule after the success of its inaugural meeting last December. Also new for 2015 is the 'Around the Edge' challenge where during the months of April and May a number of Minors and of course their crews are attempting to circumnavigate the periphery of England in order to commemorate the 2003 trip by Minorist David Brown around the 'edge' of the United Kingdom. Many of those taking part are also aiming to raise substantial sums of money for charity. The provisional events list is as follows:
Monday 30th March: Home Counties meet Box Hill, Surrey. Meet at 11-00 AM at Rykas Cafe (RH5 6BY) for coffee and a short run across the downs prior to lunch at the Watermill pub.
April & May: Members will be taking part in the club's 'Around the Edge Challenge' during which it's hoped that England will be circumnavigated by Minors and their crews completing designated sections. See the Discussion Forum for more details should you wish to take part.
Sunday 26th April: Lymington, Hants. The Southern Section are taking part in a 40 mile morning road run. Full details of how to enter on the Events thread on the website's Discussion Forum.
Sunday 26th April: Today is 'Drive-it-day when those of us not taking part in any formal event should exercise our cars along with tens of thousands of others from across the country - simply because we can! If you do take this opportunity to use your car, then please take your camera and submit a selection of the resulting images to the website.
Sunday 3rd May: 'Far Eastern Meet', The Kings Head, North Lopham, Norfolk Large car park, all are welcome from noon onwards.
Sunday 10th May: Cambs Area Meet. The White Horse, Barton, Cambs. Even Austin Sevens are welcome here! Another noon start.
16th & 17th May: Spring Beaulieu Auto Jumble. Many Minorists attend this event and use Toby Sear's Stall in the Red Field as their redevouz point. A good opportunity to pick up that missing part.
The Morris Register will also have a presence here in the shape of a hospitality pavillion which will be stationed in the Dorset Morris Minor Club's 'Moggy Fest' area. John and JoJo Nagle are manning the stand. They are also looking for members to loan their pre-war Minors for the weekend. Please contact John here if you can assist with this.
5th-7th June: The PWMN Annual Rally: Holme-next-the-sea, Norfolk A full weekend of activities. See the rally page for details.
7th-9th August: Morris Register Annual Rally Thoresby Hall, Notts. Two days of just pre 1940 Morris vehicles. See the Morris Register website for further details.
4th & 14th October: PWMN Autumn Pub Meets. 4th October The Crosskeys, Redgrave, Suffolk IP22 1RW. All vintage motorists welcome. Starts at noon.
The Cambridge area pub meet will take place on Wednesday 14th October (KO noon) at the Red Lion Inn, 47 High Street, Stretham, Cambs CB6 3LD Find the pub website here
